Great Britain: 1937 British Coronation Medal NGC Proof 62 UCAM (George VI, BHM-4314)

This is a fascinating and artistically beautiful example of the coronation medal of King George VI of Great Britain. Long sought after by collectors, gold coronation medals were struck from 1633 to 1937 with the purpose of being given to royal family members and celebrities. The 1937 issue is the last of the medals produced and the largest one in the entire British Gold Coronation medal series. Only 274 pieces were minted and the last example graded by NGC as Proof 61 Ultra Cameo last realized $12,000 in auction. 4.25 oz Gold, 120.44 g Gold
